Oskar tell us a little bit about yourself, how did your racing begin?
Oh, my racing started when i was young, 9 years old in go karts and to just get in to the sport was a fantastic thing for me. Started as a small boy in a small kart and just as the years went by you move up to the bigger go karts.
Who was your first team / Sponsor that you partnered with?
The first years was not so important with teams, we had our own family team, with my mom as a cook and my dad as a mechanic and coach..
My first real sponsor i think was Castrol and Momo 💪
What was your first race victory and which has been your most memorable?
My first victory came not to early, some podiums but the win itself took some time. Its 19 years ago so i don’t remember it. My win which is most memorable has to be my first 24h win at the Nurburgring. It was a relief. You dream as a small kid about the big ones, and then, years later you are a part of the big names 💪that is something to remember 👍🏻
Are there any other Motorsport moments that are memorable to you?
I always remember the teams, my car engineers, my racing friends, the accidents… But the last race you always remember what you could have done better.
Out of all the cars you’ve driven, which is your favourite and why?
Ayayay…. That is a question… I have had the amazing chance to drive some nice cars and on the race track at the same time… A mclaren 720s, a BMW M4, a Porsche GT2 RS MR… Its hard to say…
Do you have a favourite race circuit?
No doubt, Nordschleife.
What’s it like being the Nurburgring taxi driver and how did that come about?
Its a hard job, but its a lot of fun, im one of few real Nurburgring instructors and im very lucky to be a part of the Nurburgring Driving Academy. It started when i got a phone call and 20 minutes later i was hired!
How long have you sim raced?
My steam account says 13 years 😂
I’ve noticed you use the Bentley a lot in ACC, is this a favourite of yours?
ACC is a fantastic GT game, my favourite car is the Bentley, because its just Raw Power, and so big and fun. The bop is often not good so i think i need to change it.
Do you believe there is any correlation between sim racing and real Motorsport racing? If so do you feel it helps when you return back to the real car?
Yes, not really everything.. But a lot, quite hard to explain… I use simracing to practice “racemode” or “Hammertime” as some call it. To be in the moment, and close out the world around you.
Tell us about Turn 1?
Turn1 started as a Sim racing community, and we evolved fast, and me and Wilhelm wanted to make something more, a team of drivers, to have fun, learn and be connected to the sim racing world.
Do you have any big plans for your involvement in Sim Racing?
As of now the Turn1 team is enough, since Real life racing is on the way I need to be sure to be 100% on racedays and so on.
